Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to help BJP win all 80 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He was addressing the gathering at an event organized to pay tribute to the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh on his second death anniversary in Aligarh today.
Home Minister Amit Shah said that Kalyan Singh ji started a fear-free and corruption-free governance in Uttar Pradesh. Under Babuji's guidance, BJP flourished in Uttar Pradesh and reached the masses, he added. Mr. Shah recalled that Kalyan Singh had three goals. He added, the first was to speed up the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, the second was the welfare of the poor and the third was the uplift of the backward class without disturbing the social harmony. He stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following Babuji's ideals by providing amenities such as home, food, water, and electricity to the crores of poor. Construction of Ram Mandir is also going on in full swing, he added.
Also, present at the event, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath said that the late Kalyan Singh must be feeling proud that the work for which he left the chief Minister chair in 1992 is being completed. He added that the government had decided that on his first death anniversary, the first Cancer Institute would be named after Babuji Kalyan Singh.
Chief Minister Yogi added that when the BJP government was formed for the first time in the State, then people came to know what good governance is like. He recalled that in 1991, Kalyan Singh established a separate Tala Nagri (city of Locks) to give a new identity to Aligarh. Expressing his happiness, he added that after the formation of the BJP government in 2017, this recognition has reached the global stage. Aligarh is the birthplace of Kalyan Singh, who passed away in 2021.
The event was also attended by both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goel, Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and BJP Uttar Pradesh president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and several other Ministers also attended the function and paid tributes to Kalyan Singh.
