In Nagaland,  an estimated voter turnout of 83.54 percent was recorded  in the Urban Local Bodies Elections, ULB elections held in three Municipalities and 21 Town councils on June 26. This ULB election is historic for the State of Nagaland  as the pollings were conducted after a gap of 20 years, that too with 33 per cent women reservation. Voting took place in 420 polling stations under 214 wards  with 523 candidates in fray, which included 198 female candidates and 325 male. The State Election Commission said the polls went smoothly in all Polling Stations except in one under Dimapur Municipal Council. To this, The SEC  declared a fresh polling at Polling Station No. 4 under Ward 20 of Dimapur Municipal Council on June 28. Atoizu Town Council recorded the highest voter turnout with a poll percentage of 95.47 while Changtongya Town Council registered the lowest turnout with 67.70 percent. NDPP has the highest number of candidates at 178, BJP 44, Congress 37, NPP 22, NPF 21, NCP 15, JD (U) 9, RPI (Athawale) 7, LJP 7, Rising Peoples’ Party 1, and Independent 182. The counting of votes will take place on 29th June.
