The High Court granted an interim bail for four weeks to the film actor Allu Arjun over a quash petition filed by the actor in a case relating to stampede which led to death of a woman and injuring her son. The court also directed the actor for a personal bond of 50,000 rupees. Justice J Sridevi pronounced this while hearing the quash petition. The judge also granted four weeks interim bail to other accused who were arrested earlier.
Earlier in the day, Allu Arjun who was arrested by police has been presented before a local court and the court directed for a 14-day remand. The incident of stampede occurred at a premiere show of his blockbuster film Pushpa-2- The Rise in Hyderabad. A 39-year-old woman died in the stampede while her minor son was injured critically at Sandhya theatre in the city. Hyderabad Commissioner of police CV Anand informed the media that Allu Arjun has been arrested relating to the Sandhya theatre stampede incident.
Police has registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the management of the cinema theatre under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118 (1), punishment for causing hurt, of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Earlier, the owner of the two employees of Sandhya Theatre were arrested.
