Hectic campaigning continues for the remaining phases of Lok Sabha elections. Leaders of various political parties are criss-crossing states to garner support for their party.
Star campaigners of different political parties used all their might to woo the voters for the next phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh today.
Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi today said that CAA is a burning example of Modi ki guarantee, and it is clear that BJP fulfilled its promises. He said the CAA will not be removed.
Addressing an election rally in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, he said that this Lok Sabha election is an opportunity for the country to choose a leader who can run a strong government which makes the world aware of India’s strength. He said, earlier the development was restricted to big cities, but now a lot of development has taken place at places like Ayodhya and Kashi also.
He also addressed political rallies in Azamgarh, Bhadohi and Pratapgarh districts of the state.
On the other hand Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigned in Raebareli. Attacking the BJP she said that the saffron party is promoting lawlessness. She also criticised the government for lack of facilities in cow shelters.
Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav also attacked BJP in Banda and said that State and Central Governments are neck deep in corruption. He also addressed another political rally in Fatehpur district. These rallies are being held in the constituencies which will go to polls in 5th and 6th phase.
In Bihar, several star campaigners and senior leaders of NDA and Grand Alliance today held public meetings in support of their alliance candidates. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Amit Shah held election rallies in Sitamarhi and Madhubani. Addressing a rally in Sitamarhi, Mr. Shah said, by scrapping the article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented the true spirit of One Nation, One Constitution. The senior BJP leader said now it is time to integrate the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to India. Rashtriya Lok Morcha candidate and former union minister Upendra Kushwaha conducted a door to door campaign in Dawood Nagar in Aurangabad in Karakat parliamentary constituency.
In the Grand Alliance, party leaders of RJD, Congress, Vikas Sheel Insaan Party and left parties held several election rallies in different parliamentary constituencies. RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav attacked BJP on the issues of unemployment and migration during campaigns. Addressing a public meeting in Madhubani in support of RJD candidate, Mr. Yadav said, NDA ruled in both centre and state for a long period but failed to address the problem of migration. He said BJP and JD(U) are shying away from the real problems of Bihar.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today sounded confident that his party will retain the Nashik Lok Sabha constituency with a bigger margin this time. Participating in a road show to canvas for Shiv Sena candidate and sitting MP Hemant Godse, Mr. Shinde said the candidate is a hard working person and his victory is certain.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis campaigned for BJP’s Dindori candidate Dr. Bharati Pawar at Manmad. He said the Centre has allocated 22 thousand crore rupees for building broad gauge rail infrastructure while the Manmad Bypass project will also be discussed in the near future. He further assured the citizens that issues of drought and scarcity of water will be resolved by using water from Girna Dam and Panjhan Left Canal.
Campaigning for Congress’ Dhule candidate Shobha Bachav, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar said people are looking for political change and things are in favour of MahaVikas Aghadi. He also accused the Centre for causing distress to farmers, especially onion farmers.
Dhule, Nashik and Dindori are among the 13 Lok Sabha seats that will go to polls in the fifth phase on May 20, marking the conclusion of elections in Maharashtra.
