Several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs have been witnessing incessant rainfall since last night. Mumbai city witnessed 19.98 mm, the Eastern Suburbs witnessed 29.56 mm and the Western suburbs witnessed 59.30 mm of rain between yesterday and today morning. The India Meteorological Department has sounded a yellow alert of moderate rain for the city while the IMD has issued a red alert for the Palghar district and an orange alert for the Thane district. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli.
