Heavy rains continue to lash several parts of Gujarat for the second consecutive day on 1st July 2023, Saturday. Districts including Navsari, Valsad, Jamnagar, Junagadh, and Kutch continued to receive extremely heavy spells during the day causing flood-like situations in many parts. Water logging disrupted normal life in many parts of the state. Moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in nearly 144 towns covering the entire state among which Dharmpur, Khergam, and Visavadar towns recorded the highest, around seven inches, of rain.
 
Four teams of NDRF have been deployed in the flood-affected districts to rescue people in low-lying areas. Many dams in Saurashtra including Moj, Ozat are overflowing. The water level is rising in all the other major dams in the state including Bhadar, Madhuban, Shetrunji, and Ukai following the heavy rains.

IMD has predicted heavy to heavy rains in many parts of the state till tomorrow. Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the sea till July 3.
