Heavy rains continue to lash several parts in Telangana

In Telangana, heavy rains continue to lash several parts of the state. After a brief respite, very heavy rains affected normal life in many places. Vailpur in Nizamabad district recorded the highest of 461.5 mm rain in less than 24 hours.
 
Hyderabad Meteorological Centre informed that a Low-Pressure area was formed near the Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts and it is likely to concentrate into a Depression over the region by 26th July 2023. The Met Department also issued a Red alert of very heavy rains likely at some places in several districts in the state for the next three days.
 
In Hyderabad, heavy rain threw normal life out of gear as some parts witnessed over 40 cm of rainfall within a span of one hour. Charminar region in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits recorded the highest of 78 mm rainfall during the past 24 hours.
 
Meanwhile, all the projects over River Godavari and River Krishna are receiving heavy inflows due to heavy rains in the catchment areas.
