Heavy Rainfall Forecast for West Peninsular Coast and Northeast India

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely along the West Peninsular Coast during next three to four days and over Northeast India likely during 27th to 30th June. Rainfall activity is likely to increase over Northwest India with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely during 28th to 30th June. Indian Meteorological Department said conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, some more parts of Rajasthan; remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar during nest 3 to 4 days. Monsoon is also likely to advance into most parts of Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, northern parts of Punjab and northern parts of Haryana during next 3 to 4 days.

Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are in the range of 40 to 43 degrees Celsius over many parts of West Rajasthan, some parts of Punjab and in isolated pockets of East Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh. These are above normal by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over these regions. Today, the highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees over the country was reported at Bikaner in Rajasthan.
