Heavy rain along with thunderstorms lashes different parts of Manipur this afternoon. The rainfall brought some relief to the scorching sun but left some low lying areas of Imphal city under water as for now.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that heavy to very heavy rainfall along with lightning and thunderstorms is likely to spell in some districts of Manipur for five days starting from today. The Meteorological Centre Imphal said that seven districts of Manipur have recorded rainfall since yesterday and Chandel district recorded 67.5 mm rainfall till this morning which became the highest rainfall district of Manipur.
