Heavy rain likely as monsoon to advance into whole of north Bengal in few days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and the northeastern part of the country will continue to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls for the next 4-5 days. The IMD said isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim until the 20th of June. The weather department also forecast that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over many parts of North India for the next 3 days and will gradually abate thereafter. Regarding the southwest monsoon, the IMD said conditions are favorable for the further advancement of the monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and some parts of Bihar during the next 4-5 days.
