India Meteorological Department, IMD has issued red alert for Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha due to Heat Wave Conditions. IMD also forecast heatwave to severe heatwave conditions continue over East and South Peninsular India during the next five days. The IMD said, heatwave conditions are expected to prevail over Gangetic West Bengal and heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
Meanwhile, the IMD also said that Delhi will witness thunderstorms with rain and strong surface winds for the next few days.
