Haryana govt approves proposal to encourage research for Atmanirbhar Bharat in keeping with spirit of National Education Policy 2020

Haryana Government has approved a proposal to encourage research for Atmanirbhar Bharat in keeping with the spirit of National Education Policy 2020. Haryana State Higher Education Council has written a letter to the Vice Chancellors of the state-funded and private universities asking them to follow the proposed guidelines.The proposal includes Chief Minister's fellowships in Science, Technology, Social Science, Humanities and Problem-solving researches.

An official spokesperson said that mainly 4 objectives are covering a broad spectrum. Firstly finding solutions to the contemporary problems being faced by various systems including Agriculture, Industry, Social System, Economy and Technology. Secondly, to create authentic database for policy formulations and implementations, and  to explore areas of growth for creating more livelihood options for the youth of the State and lastly, research in the emerging areas of science, technology and applications of science and technology. He stated that consultative meetings have led to the identification of forty-seven specific research topics for this endeavour. The funding for each project, ranging from  75,000 to 1,00,000 rupees will be determined based on project size and scope, following recommendations from experts. Additionally, sponsoring institutions will seek a 25 percent matching contribution through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
