Haryana School Education Minister, Kanwar Pal has welcomed and expressed appreciation for the passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam bill. He said that this is a significant step in the direction of women's empowerment. He appreciated the bill and commended the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for taking this important initiative.
 
He mentioned that there had been extensive discussions on this matter for the past two decades, but it was Prime Minister Modi who demonstrated the resolve to make it a reality.
