The 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with a spirit of patriotism and great pomp and show in Haryana today. Independence Day celebrations were organized in all the districts in the morning and contingents of Police and paramilitary forces, cadets of National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme performed impressive parades. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini hoisted the flag and took the salute at the parade, in a ceremony organized in the premises of Police Lines in Kurukshetra. Earlier, he paid tribute to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak located in the Mini Secretariat. In his address, the Chief Minister paid true tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed everything for the freedom of the country and said that today I salute all those martyrs who participated in the freedom struggle, due to whom today we are breathing in the open air of freedom. Throwing light on the various schemes of the Haryana Government, he said that from time to time the government is providing various facilities to the families of the martyrs and all kinds of schemes have also been launched for the citizens of Haryana. A presentation was given by SWAT i.e. Special Weapons and Tactics in the Independence Day program. Haryana Commandos also gave a wonderful performance with acrobatics on motorcycles.
