Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the construction work of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Government Medical College at Panjupur village in Yamunanagar on Monday. In his address on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the estimated cost of the project is 1200 crore rupees and aims to be completed in approximately 30 months. Chief Minister under this project, a 100-seat Medical College, a 500-bedded hospital, a Nursing College, and a Physiotherapy Institute will be constructed. He said, The project was initially announced in 2021, and then in 2022 the State government announced to name this college after Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He said that the present State government is actively working on expanding healthcare services by establishing medical colleges and hospitals in every district. He also mentioned the Nirogi Yojana, which aims to check the health of one crore 41 lakh people with income up to 1.80 lakh rupees in the first phase, with 21 lakh people already examined and this target will be achieved in the coming 1.5 years.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the implementation of Ayushman Yojana and the Chirayu Yojana in the State. He along with Forest and School Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Dr. Sumita Misra inspected the layout project of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Government College and also planted saplings on the campus before performing Bhoomi Pujan of the Government Medical College amidst the chanting of mantras.
