Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Announces Deployment of Central Armed Forces for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said that for the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana in 2024, 15 companies of central armed forces will be deployed, including 10 from the Central Reserve Police Force and five Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Addressing the media at Chandigarh, he said that the preparations for the initial phase of the Loksabha elections have been completed.  A review meeting has also been held regarding the deployment of companies. The Election Commission of India has also held meetings with election observers to provide necessary guidance, he added.

 

Mr. Agarwal said that conducting free and fair elections is our top priority. He said that the police and excise departments are conducting special checks and so far seized illicit liquor and narcotics worth about five crore rupees. He further said that the General Elections of the Lok Sabha held every 5 years are a part of the Indian tradition, recognised as the strongest democratic system in the world. It is not possible to maintain this pride in the country without exercising the franchise of voters. Therefore, every voter should use their vote and contribute to this virtue.
