In Gujarat, mega shramdan activities were held as part of the 'Ek Tarikh Ek Ghanta ek Sath' initiative for cleanliness. Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in cleanliness drive organised at Ranip area of Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel offered shramdan in his assembly constituency Ghatlodia in Ahmedabad. On the occasion, CM called upon the people to join the cleanliness drive and contribute to make our roads garbage free.
Mega shramdan events were also held at schools, colleges, railway stations, beaches and other public places in which large number of people voluntarily offered shramdan. Sixth batalian of NDRF along with civic society and NGOs undertook mega cleanliness drive at Sursagar lake in Vadodara and famous Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad and collected garbage from the river.
Shramdan programme was also held at Gujarat assembly in the presence of Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary.
