The Gujarat government has doubled the insurance cover under Pradhanmantri Jan Aarogya Yojana from the 11th of this month. Now, the beneficiaries of PMAY will get an insurance cover of 10 lakh rupees instead of earlier 5 lakh.
 
Talking to the media, State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said nearly 1.78 crore Ayushman Bharat cardholders in the state will be benefited. He added that the beneficiaries will get free of cost medical treatment from over two thousand government hospitals and 795 private hospitals in the state under PMAY.
 
The minister added that Gujarat ranks fifth in clearing the claims made by beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat card holders.
