In Gujarat, over 14 thousand people have been shifted to safer locations and nearly 1600 people have been rescued amid the floods so far. As many as 14 districts in the state including Surat, Anand, Devbhoomi Dwaraka and Vadodara are hit by the floods this year. As per the official data, over 350 people were rescued and more than 3 thousand 700 were shifted from Surat district alone. The intensity of rains has been reduced significantly in the state since morning.
Meanwhile, following the heavy rains in the catchment areas in the past 24 hours, a flood situation has occurred in Navsari district in South Gujarat today. Purna and Ambika rivers of the district are flowing above the danger mark and waterlogging can be seen in many parts of the city. A large number of people living in low-lying areas in the district are being shifted to safer locations. The train service is still affected and several trains passing from Ahmedabad and Vadodara have been diverted.
