Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has said that the growth of every nation is rationally correlated to the health of its populace. He said this while addressing the 48th Convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi today. Mr Dhankhar said, everything in life can be regained whether it is power, friend, or wealth, but the only thing that cannot ever regain is the body. He said, therefore, everyone has to take full care of it. The Vice President said health is wealth and it is the duty of every citizen, government, and people associated with health to pay attention to it.  He said, the scriptures and literature of the country have a treasure of health solutions. Mr Dhankhar said, if the resources which have been there in the country for centuries are not tapped, we will not be doing service to humanity at large.
 
He advised students not to get caught up in competitiveness. The Vice President asked them to go for their aptitude and they will find their own place and will be able to contribute immensely. He said, every time he has come to AIIMS, it has touched him greatly. Mr Dhankhar said, the kind of commitment and dedication that doctors have in AIIMS is unparalleled.
 
On the occasion, Mr Dhankhar presented degrees to over two thousand 500 students. He also presented Lifetime Achievement awards to former faculty members.
 
Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya presided over the convocation ceremony. Minister of State for Health Prof S P Singh Baghel, and Director AIIMS M Srinivas were present on the occasion.
