Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised that the government stands firm and resolute in this era of social media, where there is misinformation and disinformation.
Addressing the gathering at the Leadership Summit organized by a media organisation, Mr. Modi highlighted that his government stays away from vote-bank politics and is working with the mantra of progress for the people, by the people.
He reaffirmed that the government aims to make the country a developed nation, and the people have entrusted it with their confidence. On the issue of terrorism, Mr Modi pointed out that times have changed, and now it is the terrorists who feel unsafe in their own homes.
Mr. Modi further underlined that in 2014, the country’s Union budget was around 16 lakh crore, and today it stands at 48 lakh crore rupees. He mentioned that the capital expenditure has now exceeded 11 lakh crore rupees, with funds being allocated to new schools, research facilities, and the rail sector.
The Prime Minister further mentioned that LPG gas connections were once a distant dream for many, stating that his government prioritized providing gas connections to every household. He added that in 2014, there were 14 crore gas connections, and today there are more than 30 crore. He noted that the initiative has not only improved sanitation but also boosted the economy and created job opportunities for many people.
Mr. Modi also pointed out that the governments after independence did not instil the energy needed for taking risks, but in the last 10 years, the youth have developed strong risk-taking ability. He said that the country now has over 1.25 lakh registered startups, and the youth are eager to make the nation proud. He also mentioned that India today has at least 10 crore lakhpati Didis.
