The Government today said that it has set a target for building more than one crore houses by the end of next year under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In a written reply to Lok Sabha,  the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs,  Kaushal Kishore said that over 118 lakh houses have been sanctioned as of the 10th of this month. Of this, 112 lakh 22 thousand houses have been grounded for construction of which 75 lakh 31thousand houses were completed and delivered to beneficiaries. The Minister informed that 28 thousand crore rupees were allocated under the scheme this financial year.
