The Government today introduced the Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in Rajya Sabha. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur introduced the legislation. The Bill is aimed at checking piracy issues in the film industry.  It is intended to ensure that the film content does not suffer due to piracy as the menace causes heavy loss to the industry. The Bill is to further amend the Cinematography Act 1952.
