The government has constructed over one lakh three thousand kilometre roads length under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana since April 2021. This was stated by Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today. The Minister informed that over 16 thousand kilometres of road length have been constructed in Uttar Pradesh followed by nine thousand 295 kilometres in Madhya Pradesh. He said a total of 17 thousand 949 roads and three thousand 509 bridges in the country were also constructed under the scheme within the same period. The Minister informed that phase IV of the scheme will be launched to provide all-weather connectivity to 25 thousand rural habitations.
