Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal today asserted that the Central government is fully committed to protecting the values and morals of the visionary leader Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and is steadfast in the well-being of the underprivileged. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Meghwal mentioned that through schemes and initiatives such as the establishment of the renowned Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi in 2017, the Government is showcasing Mr Ambedkar’s contribution and ideals to the world.
He said that Dr Ambedkar was not just a leader of social empowerment but also laid the foundation for India’s financial set-up. Mr Meghwal said that B R Ambedkar’s reports helped establish the Finance Commission, while his book “The Problem of the Rupee: Its Origin and Its Solution” helped establish the Reserve Bank of India. Mr Meghwal also criticised the former Congress regime and alleged that the contributions of the leader were unnoticed during this era.
