Government says, India made extensive efforts during its G20 Presidency to raise voice of Global South

Extensive efforts have been made under India's G20 Presidency to raise the voice of the Global South and seek positive support for the African Union to become a permanent member of the G20. In an exclusive interview with Akashwani News, Special Secretary for G20-Operations Muktesh Pardeshi expressed hope that the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 will likely to be adopted during the upcoming G20 Summit in New Delhi. He said, India has been able to raise its profile and able to bring the country’s national priorities on the international agenda in multiple manner. He said, G20 is a global opportunity for showcasing the country’s progress and creating a favorable narrative about India.  

Mr.Pardeshi said, many countries of the world have lauded the contribution of India made in the digital sector. He said, the steps taken by the country in creating a robust digital infrastructure like Aadhar and UPI in the country is finding resonance amongst the world leaders. He said, India will organize an exhibition on the Digital India experience zone in the Bharat Mandapam, the main venue of the G20 Summit, for the delegates.
