Government has allocated Rs. 2,40,000 crores for improving road infrastructure in India: Union Minister of State for Highways and Civil Aviation V.K. Singh

Union Minister of State for Highways and Civil Aviation V.K. Singh has said that the Government has allocated 2 lakh 40 thousand crores rupees for improving road infrastructure in the country. Speaking at an event in Vellore today, the Minister informed that the Union Government will undertake steps to improve traffic congestion in National Highways by extending them. He also told that already road infrastructure projects have been implemented at a cost of 13 lakh crore rupees. He assured that the Government toll in highways will not be hiked and if there are any complaints on the issue, it could be conveyed to the Union Government. The Minister also informed that National Highway connecting Chennai and Bangalore will be upgraded.
