Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations by hoisting the National Flag and addressing the Nation from the Ramparts of historic Red Fort. The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s achievements and various challenges and opportunities before the nation. 

During his  Independence Day speech at Red Fort, PM said that the government is also devising a new plan for the agri-tech sector to strengthen women's self-help groups. He said, they will be trained in operating and repairing Drones. The initiative will begin with the flight of Drones by 15 thousand women self-help groups.
