Government approves Rs 2539.61 crore for upgradation of Akashvani and Doordarshan: Govt replies in RS

The Government has approved 2539.61 crore rupees for the upgradation of Akashvani and Doordarshan.
 
 In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur said that the Government has approved the continuation of the Central Sector Scheme “Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND)” with an outlay of 2539.61 crore rupees for the period 2021-26 for upgradation of broadcasting infrastructure and network development of Prasar Bharati (Akashvani and Doordarshan).
 
He informed the House that Outlay under the BIND Scheme has been projected for different activities which are undertaken based on the availability of funds and inter-se priority. Under the BIND Scheme, the upgradation of DDK (Doordarshan) Ranchi and Akashvani stations at Chaibasa, Daltonganj, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Giridih, Pakur, Simdega, and Kodarma has been envisaged in the State of Jharkhand.
