The government has approved seven hundred 55 applications across 14 sectors and realized one crore 23 lakh rupees till March 2024 under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and around 8 lakh employment has been generated. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada informed this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

The Government had announced an outlay of 1.97 lakh crore rupees to enhance the country’s Manufacturing capabilities and Exports under the PLI scheme. The purpose of the PLI Schemes is to attract investments in key sectors and cutting-edge technology and also ensure efficiency and bring economies of size and scale in the manufacturing sector.
