Gold prices today rose 180 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for August contracts. The precious metal was trading at 58,870 rupees per 10 grams. Silver also added marginally to trade at 71,370 rupees per kilogram for September Contracts.

In the global markets, gold was trading up at 1,942 dollars and 60 cents per ounce at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver also added to trade at 23 dollars and 40 cents per ounce in the intra-day session.
