Today, gold was trading significantly higher at the Multi Commodity Exchange for June contracts. The precious metal was up by 270 rupees or 0.37 percent to trade at 72,547 rupees per ten grams. Silver futures for May contracts was lower by 401 rupees or 0.48 percent to trade at 83,450 rupees per kilogram, when reports last came in.

In the global markets, gold was trading at 2,385 dollars and 90 cents per ounce at COMEX. Silver was trading at 28 dollars and 35 cents per ounce in the intra-day session.
