The General Office Commanding (GOC) of 3 Corps Lt. General HS Sahi along with Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General Rajan Sharawat called on the Governor of Manipur Sushri Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan today and apprised the Governor on the present law and order situation in Manipur.
 
According to the Raj Bhavan source, the top Army officer briefed the Governor about the deployment of Army and Assam Rifles to contain the incidents and restore peace and tranquility in the State. They informed that the Army and Assam Rifles have been deployed at vulnerable areas of both valley and hill districts to contain the situation and are working for the resettlement of those displaced people in their respective places.
 
The Governor advised them to bring the situation under control at the earliest and bring normalcy. Sushri Anusuiya Uikey also informed them that she has already made an appeal to the people of Manipur, especially womenfolk to extend their fullest cooperation to the security personnel who have been discharging their responsibilities to restore peace and harmony in the State.
 
The Governor also met representatives of different civil society organizations today and appealed to them to cooperate on restoring peace in Manipur.
