Global leaders extend congratulations to PM Modi and his party for securing 3rd consecutive victory in Lok Sabha elections

Global leaders have extended their congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party for securing a third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha elections. U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Democratic Alliance on their victory, and the nearly 650 million voters in this historic election. In a social media post, Mr. Biden said that the friendship between the two nations is only growing as a shared future of unlimited potential is unlocked.

Meanwhile, United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke to Prime Minister Modi to congratulate him on his election victory.  In a social media post, Mr. Sunak said that the UK and India share the closest of friendships, and together that friendship will continue to thrive.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also extended his congratulations to Mr. Modi. Mr. Putin said that the voting results have again confirmed Mr. Modi’s personal high political authority, support for accelerated socio-economic development of India and the protection of its interests on the world stage. He said that Russia attaches great importance to the relationship of a particularly privileged strategic partnership with New Delhi.  The Russian President expressed confidence that the interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and India are in the interests of further building up traditional mutually beneficial cooperation and filling it with new content.

Republic of Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol said in a social media post that the result shows India’s unwavering trust in Mr. Modi’s outstanding leadership. He looked forward to working closely with Mr. Modi to deepen the Korea-India Special Strategic Partnership.

Earlier several world leaders including from Italy, Mauritius, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Comoros, Lithuania, Kenya, Czech Republic, Serbia, Nigeria Spain, Iran, Ukraine and Malaysia congratulated the Prime Minister on his win. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister thanked all the leaders for their wishes and looks forward to working together to further deepen their partnership.
