In the German Open Super 300 Badminton tournament, Priyanshu Rajawat, Kiran George, Rakshitha Ramraj and Unnati Hooda have progressed to the second round of men’s and women’s singles competition in Mulheim City.
Priyanshu Rajawat delivered a standout performance, defeating senior compatriot Kidambi Srikanth in straight sets, 21-14, 21-12 yesterday. In another men’s singles match, Kiran George triumphed over Finland’s J Oldorff, winning 21-18, 19-21, 21-16.
In women’s singles, Rakshitha Ramraj battled past Malaysia’s Kisona Selvaduray, winning 22-20, 5-21, 25-23. Unnati Hooda also made her mark, cruising to a 21-13, 21-17 victory over Canada’s W Zhang.
T Hemanth and Anmol Kharb, however, bowed out of the competition after losing their respective opening-round matches.
