Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying George Kurien has been declared elected unopposed from the only Rajya Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh.

Mr Kurien today reached the State Assembly in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and BJP State President VD Sharma and received the certificate of being elected from Returning Officer Arvind Sharma.

This seat fell vacant due to the election of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to the 18th Lok Sabha.
