Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has asserted that Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) is set to emerge as the best university in the country and the world in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. Chairing the first court meeting of GSV in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Vaishnaw informed that the GSV would offer industry driven and employability focused courses across the transportation and logistics sectors including railways, aviation, highways, shipping, defense among others.
The Minister added that all the newly recruited officers of Indian Railway Management Service will undergo their probationary training designed by the Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. The training will be a combination of theoretical and practical experiences at the Centralized Training Institutes and the industry resulting in an MBA degree from GSV.
New programmes will be added for Bridge and Tunnel Engineering, Aviation Operations, Maritime Infrastructure, Highway Engineering and for defense forces.
