The Ganesh Festival began in Maharashtra today with idols of Lord Ganesh being installed in homes and at pandals. Crores of devotees welcomed their favourite deity.
Akashvani's correspondent reports that Maharashtra has a century-old tradition of celebrating Ganesh festival publicly. Devotees from all sections of society are participating in this festival.
Along with common citizens political leaders, film personalities, industrialists, and many others have installed Ganesh ji at their homes. People visit relatives and friends for the blessing of Bappa. Large crowds can also be seen at the Ganesh Pandals.
This year Chandrayaan 3, and Ram Mandir are the popular themes for the decoration. Local administrations and Police departments have made the required arrangements to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.
