Fresh spell of heatwave conditions likely to commence over parts of Northwest India and Gujarat

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that a fresh spell of heatwave conditions is likely to commence over parts of Northwest India and Gujarat starting Tuesday. The IMD said that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over West and East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi, and Haryana until the 18th of this month. Meanwhile, the weather department has also forecast rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds over East and Northeast India during the next 3 to 4 days. Maximum temperatures over Northwest and Central India are expected to rise gradually by 3 to 6 degrees Celsius over the subsequent 5-6 days. Heat wave conditions are also very likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.
