French Embassy in India today paid tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birth anniversary and said that France upheld the values of non-violence, peace and tolerance stated by Mahatma Gandhi. 

In a social media post, the Embassy said, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today, Ambassador-designate Thierry Mathou and everyone at the Embassy pay tribute to the Mahatma and the values of peace, tolerance and non-violence that he staunchly upheld. Gandhiji is deeply admired in France, as reflected in statues in Strasbourg and Vauréal.
