Former MMA champion Conor McGregor Announces Candidacy for Ireland’s Presidency

Former Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champion Conor McGregor has announced his candidacy for Ireland’s presidency. The announcement came just days after he visited the United States. In a social media post yesterday, the 36-year-old called for the Irish Presidential elections to be held by November 11 and outlined his stance against the European Union Migration Pact. The pact aims to streamline border security, immigration policies, and asylum processes across European Union member states.

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin criticized McGregor’s remarks on immigration, calling them wrong and unrepresentative of Ireland’s values. In a social media post, Martin stated that McGregor’s views do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day or the sentiments of the Irish people.
