The pact aims to streamline border security, immigration policies, and asylum processes across European Union member states.

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin criticized McGregor’s remarks on immigration, calling them wrong and unrepresentative of Ireland’s values. In a social media post, Martin stated that McGregor’s views do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day or the sentiments of the Irish people.
