Former Indian hockey player and coach Jagbir Singh yesterday suffered a heart attack in a hospital in Rourkela where he was admitted, following a chest congestion complaint during a team practice session. The two-time Olympian is currently associated with Team Gonasika which is playing in the ongoing Hockey India League (HIL). Jagbir felt breathing problems after Team Gonasika’s training session, following which he was admitted to ICU. The 59-year-old Jagbir contributed to Indian Hockey as an excellent forward and also coached the Indian Men’s team in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
