In the Forex market today, the Indian rupee depreciated 12 paise to close at 83 rupee and 54 paisa against US dollar.

The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was up by 0.17 percent at 105.76 in intra-day trade.
