A foreign delegation on tour to study Indian Election process has expressed that the enthusiasm of the voters here for self-motivated voting and the happiness on their faces is the success of the voting awareness program implemented by the Election commission of India.
The Commission has organized the program for international cooperation and engagement with election management organizations of other countries. Under this, foreign delegation representatives have come to Maharashtra to inspect the election process. After inspecting the voting process at the polling station in Raigad, the delegation today met the Chief Election Officer of the state, S. Chokkalingam, and learned about the electoral process in India.
The delegation included representatives from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan and Zimbabwe.
While expressing their experience regarding the inspection of the polling station, the representatives of the delegation said that keeping in mind the large number of voters here, the orderliness of the polling station and the smooth running of the voting process is definitely a success of the system’s preparation.
- Chokkalingam informed that in a democratic country like India, the electoral process is very important. He added that Election Commission’s first priority is to conduct the election process in India in a transparent, fearless environment. In that regard, he informed that all the relevant systems are working and the voting process in Maharashtra has been successfully conducted in three phases so far in an orderly and peaceful manner. He also informed that all the processes are closely monitored and strict action is taken against any malpractices.
