Foreign Minister S. Jaishanker today said in a tweet after the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) retreat in Bangkok that food, health and energy Securities are common concerns for member nations.
He said that they had a productive, open and forward looking discussion among the colleagues.The Minister further wrote, the focus of the meeting was on strengthening resilience and coordination among BIMSTEC members, reflecting the challenges that all the countries confront today.
He said during the meeting explored new facets and activities to enter new areas of cooperation.Technology solutions can be subject for both collaboration and exchange of best practices, he added.
Mr.Jaishanker said about BIMSTEC that our common objective is to enhance growth and promote prosperity. He also added that members agreed to meet more frequently to take these ideas further.
Yesterday Mr. Jaishankar Co-chaired the 12th Mekong Ganga Cooperation (MGC) meeting in Bangkok along with Foreign Minister of Lao PDR Saleumxay Kommasith.
