‘Food for Thought’ founder K Srinivasa Rao has expressed his immense gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for mentioning about his mission in his Mann ki Baat today. Talking to Akashvani Correspondent, Srinivasa Rao said it is a great humbling experience for him and his team.
Stating that a reading revolution should be ignited in the country, Srinivasa Rao said the country’s success should be measured not only on GDP, but also on GGP- “Ghar Ghar Pustakalay”.
Along with his sister Madhavi Sharma and wife Shefali, who are co-founders of the Food for Thought, he started this mission eight years ago and now about one lakh children in over 90 cities across the country are accessing over one and half lakh books every day.
It is quite interesting that all these books are geotagged knowing which book is being read every day and some of these over six hundred libraries are in jails and in remote areas.
