Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the focus of the government is to make India a research and development hub.
Speaking at the B20 Summit India 2023 in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr Pradhan said, National Research Foundation is being established to facilitate research at academic institutions. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, government has formulated the National Education Policy 2020 which prepares the students for the 21st century. Mr Pradhan said, through National Education Policy, government is imparting cutting-edge skills and knowledge including courses in coding, Artificial Intelligence, semiconductors and drone technologies. He said, there is a strong focus on learning in mother tongue to ensure strong conceptual understanding and learning. The Minister said, government is targeting 100 per cent enrollment in knowledge ecosystem in schools, skill sector and higher education.
Dharmendra Pradhan said, India is among the fastest-growing economy in the world. He said, the government is making concerted efforts to ensure not only ease of doing business but also ease of doing research. The Minister said, India is witnessing a path-breaking scenario in skilling and entrepreneurship.
