In Bihar, some new regions today were affected by floods increasing the number of flood victims around 15 lakh in 17 districts. Rising water levels of Kosi, Gandak, Mahananda, Kamala Balan, Bagmati and other rivers are sweeping in other parts of the state in low-lying areas. Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, West Champaran, Madhubani, Supaul and Saharsa are the worst affected districts. Flood waters have also entered several villages in Purnea, Araria, Madhepura and Kishanganj districts.
