Union Fisheries & Animal Husbandry Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh today inaugurated the Startup Conclave 2.0 in Hyderabad this evening. Speaking on the occasion, he said as part of it, the Fisheries department is promoting 10 startups by assisting them at 10 lakh rupees each. Stating that PM Matsya Sampada Yojana is giving a boost to the fisheries sector, the minister said an action plan will be implemented soon in Andaman and Lakshadweep relating to fisheries. He asked the startups to focus on improving marketing and exports of fisheries.
Minister of State for Fisheries Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel and Member of NITI Prof. Ramesh Chand also were present, among others. The winning startups will also receive structured incubation support from the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology and the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) for mentoring startups, offering capacity-building programs, and providing access to manufacturing infrastructure to help them scale their solutions effectively.
