The First Meeting of the District Implementation Committee, notified under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at U.T. Chandigarh was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap yesterday. The meeting was conducted to discuss the execution plan to be followed for the smooth implementation of the scheme in Union Territory Chandigarh. Official spokesman said that the Department of Industries, U.T. Chandigarh has been identified as the nodal department for the scheme in the city.
He said, Under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, the eligible Vishwakarmas will be provided recognition through a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, Credit Support up to 1 lakh rupees in the First Tranche and 2 lakh ripped in the Second Tranche with a concessional interest rate of 5 per cent. The Scheme will also provide skill upgradation through a 40-hour Basic practical Training and a 120-hour Advanced Practical Training, Toolkit Incentive of 15000 rupees via e-vouchers, Incentive for Digital Transactions and Marketing Support.
As per the scheme guidelines, the entire process of registration and enrolment of the beneficiary is completed via an Aadhar authenticated and centralized PM Vishwakarma portal i.e. pmvishwakarma.gov.in. The eligible artisans and craftsperson may visit their nearest Sampark Centres for registration under the scheme.
